Design Trends That Help Stage Your House
I have to admit, I love all of the design trend predictions that happen at this time of year. Not all are great for staging but some are so I wanted to highlight my favorites so that you can get a jump start on styling your house to sell super fast or making it a happier place for you to dwell.
Color Trends to Stage Your House
Benjamin Moore's Color of the Year–Guilford Green HC-116
Most of us think of grays, beiges and tans when we think neutrals, but soft greens and blues seem to go with everything. My house is full of these colorful “neutrals” so I know that they can work with just about every color. You can see how beautifully it works with navy and plum here.
Deep, Jewel Tones
I like a nice neutral for the walls in the houses that I stage, but you've got to have bursts of color in your decor so that your house stands out in your online listing. Deep, rich cobalt and sapphire blues, greens and ruby are the “it girls” of 2015. Here are beautiful examples of neutral walls with bursts of gorgeous jewel tones in the art, pillows and accents.
Use Elements From Nature
Bringing The Outside, In
Some people are cat ladies, well, I'm a plant lady. Love them. Especially orchids. The problem with plants when staging is that they actually have to look good. So, we bring the outdoors in by using items that you don't need to shower with love and water. My favorites are coral, florals in fabrics and art, images of nature, faux orchids (the kind that arch and really look good).
I hope that these design trend tips have been helpful if you intend to stage and sell your home!
